My first outdoor family session of the year with this lovely little  (expanding) family! It was really wonderful to meet Amber, Malcolm and their little 19-month-old son Kendan. A perfect sunny spring day, we headed to Shubie Park in Dartmouth to take some family portraits, but also to do a pregnancy announcement! This was super fun, as it was the first one I have ever done. Mom Amber came to me with some picture ideas and I loved them and we tried to make them work! I love when clients have ideas or a vision for what they want; it is so helpful.

Poor Kendan was feeling under the weather for our photoshoot. Having a little guy his age myself,  I knew we had a small window of time to get some great shots in. One amazing thing about Kendan is that he loves books! As soon as he started getting fussy, mom and dad would pull out his favorite books and he would snuggle right up. Incredible.

Hoping to get some smiles out of him, I asked mom and dad what gets him laughing, and they said playing chase. Without fail, as soon as they started chasing him around he broke out into the biggest smiles! It was so cute.

It’s not hard to tell there is a lot of love in this family. I can’t wait to see them again as they grow!
