Amber & Malcolm | Family | Halifax Family Photographer

A photography session with one of my favourite families on one of my favourite beaches….Rainbow Haven Provincial Park. Amber’s parents were visiting from Alberta, so we made sure to include Nana and Papa in the session as well. It is so special when extended family can be part of our time together. But remind me next time we head to the beach in September. BRING BUG SPRAY!

The Yellow Birdhouse | made local | Halifax Photographer

I teamed up with local artisan Laura from The Yellow Birdhouse to capture in her joyfully colourful felt creations on adorable models. Her handmade, high-quality felt creations showcase many nautical and floral designs, but I’ve seen some of her custom designs and they are uniquely beautiful as well. I had a great time chasing around these cute kids on the grounds of École Bois-Joli in Dartmouth. What a fun, naturally-inspired playground!

Erin & Kris with her boys are a great family. I first met the twins when they were babies, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing them again each year. It means a lot to me as a photographer to have returning families. It’s really nice seeing the kids get older, not to mention getting to know mom and dad each year. It makes our sessions fun and laid back! We spent some time feeding ducks and walking around at Shubie Park.

Johanna is one of my dearest friends, back from when I was a Surfguard at the National Parks on PEI. She is kind, fun, laid back, and just an excellent person all around. When she moved away to Ottawa, I was happy for the opportunities it would bring for her and her family, but I was so sad to have such a close friend move away. Thankfully, she comes to Halifax every now and then to visit her husband’s family. Naturally, I was delighted to take some family pictures of her with her littles. The funny part is that we were just hanging out….my kids are totally here with me behind the scenes!
