There is a lot about being pregnant that isn’t pretty or glamorous. I know this having gone through two myself. But there is something so beautiful about being pregnant that I just can’t put my finger on. The anticipation. The excitement. The new beginnings. Especially when it is the couple’s first baby, those last few weeks of pregnancy almost seem like they cast a spell, and everyone is holding their breath, just waiting for the baby to arrive.
Not to mention that baby bump is the perfect accessory and seems to look cute no matter what. Continue reading →
As I walked into Alex, Allison, and Theo’s beautiful home on a Sunday afternoon, I was happy to see a family gathering taking place. Apparently getting together on Sundays is a tradition this family loves to share. To me, sharing time and a meal with people I love is something I value so much. When I meet other people with those same values, it is so easy to make a connection! Continue reading →
I had the pleasure of meeting little Reyann and his wonderful parents on his 1st birthday. They were busy preparing for their guests, and wanted to capture their little boy digging into his Micky Mouse cake. I was immediately taken with Reyann. He has the most beautiful brown eyes and gentle demeanour. A lot of one year olds might be scared of a strange lady with a big camera in their face, but he just patiently stared at me! He even gave me some adorable smiles. He was also SO gentle in his cake smash! He slowly picked at his cake (as opposed to my son, who literally smashed his cake into his whole face!). Pamela, Nick, Clara, and little Eloise May. This is who I had the privilege of spending a couple of hours with on a weekend in July! I visited their home for a casual lifestyle family session, just five days after Eloise was born. Both Pam and Nick were laid back, fun, and so proud of their little family. They had a beautiful property, and we had fun picking different spots for the family-photo-to-hang-on-the-wall (which of course…they nailed!). Continue reading →
My friend Laura is an extremely talented artisan. She is the owner of The Yellow Birdhouse where she makes the most beautiful felt pieces. Wreaths, hair clips, hoop art, headbands, and now more recently, bowties and boutonnieres! She asked if I would take a few pictures of her incredibly handsome sons modelling her newest creations. We also managed to get a family portrait done, as well as a few head shots of her. Thankfully, it was a gorgeous evening at Fisherman’s Cove in Eastern Passage. I just love those cute painted little huts! Continue reading →
Ashley and Cody are expecting their little girl at the end of August, and asked me to document them before their newest addition arrives! Ashley is a florist with Blossom Shops, and Cody is a pretty busy guy working a couple of different jobs, but one of them is being part of the start up for Bottleneck cold-brewed coffee! Judging by their laid-back attitude and sweet gigs, I think these two are going to be pretty cool parents! Continue reading →
When Dhavita contacted me and told me that she wanted to hire me for her wedding, which also happened to be an elopement, I really had no idea what to expect! I just knew that their “spot” was on a beautiful part of the Lawrencetown beach, and that it would just be them, the Justice of the Peace, and myself. When I showed up at their house, I was so pleasantly surprised not only to find two good-looking people, but also ones who were laid back and easy to talk to. We decided to drive in the same car to the beach, which was awesome because I got to know them a little bit! I definitely got the sense that easy-going was a trend with these two 😉
