Kelly & Zach | Family | Halifax Family Photography

I met Kelly and Zach for a sweet session at their home with their three kids. It was special because they had their home listed for sale, and sold it not long after we met. This home held so many memories for them and raising their boys, so I’m glad I was able to be part of preserving some of their family history! Kelly is also a #momboss, as a sales representative for Monat. I was happy to take some headshots for her!

Alex, Allison & Theo | newborn | Halifax Newborn Photographer

Halifax Newborn photographer

As I walked into Alex, Allison, and Theo’s beautiful home on a Sunday afternoon, I was happy to see a family gathering taking place. Apparently getting together on Sundays is a tradition this family loves to share. To me, sharing time and a meal with people I love is something I value so much. When I meet other people with those same values, it is so easy to make a connection! Continue reading

You know what’s truly amazing? Getting four children and two adults to smile. At the same time. With no blinking or weird faces. Oh hey there Myatt family. Thanks for being so awesome and making me look good!

Last August, I met up with one of my favorite families at DeWolfe Park in Bedford. You are probably thinking two things: she says every family is “one of her favorites” and “LAST August? Good grief. Get your act together!” Continue reading

Amber & Malcolm | maternity | Halifax Maternity Photographer

One of my favorite families! Amber, Malcolm, and Kendan needed some updated family pictures done because…there was another baby on the way! And what could have been more perfect than heading back to the same spot I met them the first time: Shubie Park. This time, it was a beautiful summer day, absolutely perfect for walking around with an energetic 2-year-old.

One of the best parts of being a family photographer is meeting other families. Often, we can relate on some level because of our kids. It’s so fun telling stories and laughing about this crazy life. Amber’s kids are roughly the same age as my kids (spoiler alert: she had a little girl. So a boy and a girl…just like me!). I remember thinking that it would be pretty cool to hang out with them. Thankfully, Amber was thinking along the same lines, and we’ve actually been able to meet up a couple of times!

I’m so honored to have been part of seeing this family grow over the last two years! Until next time 🙂 Continue reading

Natalie, Ken & Henry | newborn | Halifax Newborn Photographer

I loved the drive to their beautiful home in Bedford. It was a grey and chilly day in December, the kind of wet cold I’ve come to know from Halifax. The clouds seemed low, and with it being the beginning of December, seemed like they might be ready to give us some snow.

I love the light from those cold, grey days in winter. Its the kind of quiet light that makes me want to snuggle with a blanket, tea, and a good book. But after meeting Ken, Natalie, and baby Henry, I also realized its also perfect for snuggling new little babies.  Continue reading

Erika & Brian | maternity | Halifax Maternity Photography

There is a lot about being pregnant that isn’t pretty or glamorous. I know this having gone through two myself. But there is something so beautiful about being pregnant that I just can’t put my finger on. The anticipation. The excitement. The new beginnings. Especially when it is the couple’s first baby, those last few weeks of pregnancy almost seem like they cast a spell, and everyone is holding their breath, just waiting for the baby to arrive.

Not to mention that baby bump is the perfect accessory and seems to look cute no matter what.  Continue reading
