I had a nice mini-session with this great family a few weeks ago. We chose the Cole Harbour Heritage Park Trail, and I really loved this rustic fence. This is a new spot and I am excited to see what it looks like once the leaves begin to change!

I’ve lived in Eastern Passage going on three years, and I’ve always been in love with the patches of lupins that grow near the Shearwater Flyer Trail in Eastern Passage at the end of June. I was so pleased when Erica contacted me, to say that she wanted them as her backdrop to her family pictures this year! Not only was it a stunning day for pictures, but this family was wonderful to photograph. The kids were so sweet and patient with my directions, and mom and dad are funny and easy going. It was a great session, and I’m in love with how these pictures turned out.
I was able to meet Liz and Ryan with their two girls at their amazing property in Hubley, Nova Scotia. What a gorgeous spot! Liz and Ryan are hilarious, and were constantly cracking jokes at one another. Their girls are sweet, fun, and feisty!
I met Kelly and Zach for a sweet session at their home with their three kids. It was special because they had their home listed for sale, and sold it not long after we met. This home held so many memories for them and raising their boys, so I’m glad I was able to be part of preserving some of their family history! Kelly is also a #momboss, as a sales representative for Monat. I was happy to take some headshots for her!
Johanna is one of my dearest friends, back from when I was a Surfguard at the National Parks on PEI. She is kind, fun, laid back, and just an excellent person all around. When she moved away to Ottawa, I was happy for the opportunities it would bring for her and her family, but I was so sad to have such a close friend move away. Thankfully, she comes to Halifax every now and then to visit her husband’s family. Naturally, I was delighted to take some family pictures of her with her littles. The funny part is that we were just hanging out….my kids are totally here with me behind the scenes!
I love meeting Amber, Malcolm, and their growing family year after year! We spent some laid-back time together at a park in their neighbourhood. We went for a walk, and we were able to capture some lovely moments along the way! Click to view more from our time together Continue reading
As I walked into Alex, Allison, and Theo’s beautiful home on a Sunday afternoon, I was happy to see a family gathering taking place. Apparently getting together on Sundays is a tradition this family loves to share. To me, sharing time and a meal with people I love is something I value so much. When I meet other people with those same values, it is so easy to make a connection! Continue reading
You know what’s truly amazing? Getting four children and two adults to smile. At the same time. With no blinking or weird faces. Oh hey there Myatt family. Thanks for being so awesome and making me look good!
Last August, I met up with one of my favorite families at DeWolfe Park in Bedford. You are probably thinking two things: she says every family is “one of her favorites” and “LAST August? Good grief. Get your act together!” Continue reading
One of my favorite families! Amber, Malcolm, and Kendan needed some updated family pictures done because…there was another baby on the way! And what could have been more perfect than heading back to the same spot I met them the first time: Shubie Park. This time, it was a beautiful summer day, absolutely perfect for walking around with an energetic 2-year-old.
One of the best parts of being a family photographer is meeting other families. Often, we can relate on some level because of our kids. It’s so fun telling stories and laughing about this crazy life. Amber’s kids are roughly the same age as my kids (spoiler alert: she had a little girl. So a boy and a girl…just like me!). I remember thinking that it would be pretty cool to hang out with them. Thankfully, Amber was thinking along the same lines, and we’ve actually been able to meet up a couple of times!
I’m so honored to have been part of seeing this family grow over the last two years! Until next time 🙂 Continue reading
