It was a cool crisp, fall day when I met Lindsay & Steven with their two beautiful children at Point Pleasant Park. The nice thing about photography sessions including older kids is that, usually, it doesn’t take much to grab that perfect picture for the Christmas card. Actually, one of the most fun parts is getting a genuine smile out of them, which includes some leg work from mom and dad. However, a special treat is when big brother helps along too!

Erin & Kris with her boys are a great family. I first met the twins when they were babies, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing them again each year. It means a lot to me as a photographer to have returning families. It’s really nice seeing the kids get older, not to mention getting to know mom and dad each year. It makes our sessions fun and laid back! We spent some time feeding ducks and walking around at Shubie Park.

I had a great time during this extended-family session! Laura initially contacted me, to say that she had some family visiting from all over Canada. Originally, we wanted to take some pictures by the ocean, but a sharp wind made that nearly impossible. So we headed to a sheltered section on the Salt Marsh Trail. I just loved the way the golden light filtered through the trees.

I spent some time for a family photography session at DeWolf Park in Bedford. Am I the only one who likes a nice, blustery Fall day? For some reason, I love the drama it creates. Not to mention it makes hand-knitted sweaters seem all the more cozy. Yes, the little one in blue is wearing a sweater that his Norwegian grandmother knit. So lovely. Norwegian grandmother also happened to be such a wonderful addition behind the scenes, making the kids smile!
