When Cathy contacted me saying that she’d love to have a family photo done before her eldest son headed off to BC for his Master’s degree, I knew that this would be a bittersweet photo session. As soon as I met the Elford family, I could tell they were a tight-knit, and fun-loving crew. Right away dad started cracking jokes, and mom was playfully smacking his arm while the boys are looking rather apologetic. Haha, classic!
Relaxed and laid-back, this photo shoot had quite a different feeling than when I am working with families with young kids. No bribery or fancy gimmicks to get them to all look at the camera at the same time (ok, maybe I had to do that a little with the beagle). It was great to get to know each of them and to chat with Cathy.
I know for them parting ways will be bittersweet, but I am so happy that I was able to give them a family portrait to hang on the wall to remember such a big milestone in their lives!
